 Mike Smith Mike joined the family when he married Bob and Ruth's older daughter Robyn. Eventually he joind the sewing team and went from no sewing experience to our embroidery software guru, repair and sales. He and Robyn have made several beautiful embroidered quilts together!!  Robyn Smith Robyn is the oldest daughter of Bob and Ruth. She has been sewing all her life. It has just come naturally! She's been a garment maker and now gotten addicted to quilting. She teaches New Owners classes and our Sewing and Embroidery Clubs and also deals with embroidery and sewing machine sales. Robyn and Mike have two sons: one in college and one who has just graduated from UT. So UT fans they are!! |
 Bob & Ruth Clark Bob started off years and years and years ago (hehe) as a door-to-door sewing machine and vacuum salesman. He gradually moved up to have his own vacuum store in Nacodoches, TX. Experimenting with locations, he slowly expanded and found his way to Austin to buy Austin Sewing Machines in 1984. Starting out on Red River they decided to move the store to a more convenient location and since have settled in Round Rock. Bob and Ruth have four children, two of which work in the sewing industry. Ruth has been an excellent seamstress her whole life. She has mastered garment construction, heirloom sewing and embroidery. She's now dabbling in quilting and I think she likes it!! Together they have run the Austin Sewing stores you've come to know and love. More of the clan...Pat Pinkston, an avid quilter and passionate instructor, has been sewing almost all her life as well as many other needle crafts. She has taught classes for several years. She enjoys helping people at whatever their level of experience and sharing quilting tips and techniques that she has learned along the way.
