Mike joined the family when he married Bob and Ruth's older daughter Robyn. Eventually he joined the sewing team and went from no sewing experience to serving as our embroidery software guru, repair services and sales. He is also the store manager. He and Robyn have made several beautiful embroidered quilts together!!
Robyn is the oldest daughter of Bob and Ruth. She has been sewing all her life. It just comes naturally! Originally a garment sewer, she currently sews home dec items and quilts. In 2013 she earned the Best in Show award by Pfaff for her embroidered quilt entry.
Robyn teaches New Owners classes and our Sewing and Embroidery Clubs and also sells our embroidery and sewing machines. Her personal taste is evident throughout the store as she selects all the fabric. She also makes several of the samples you'll see when you visit. Robyn and Mike have two sons and a grandson.
Ruth has been an excellent seamstress her whole life. She has mastered garment construction, heirloom sewing and embroidery. She's now dabbling in quilting and she likes it!!
Dale Ricklefs is with us again after serving from 2012-November 2013. She manages special events such as the Anita Goodesign party and sit and sew sessions using our five machine lines, social marketing, and web maintenance. She offers classes in long arm quilting, the Brother Scan and Cut, and special quilting techniques. Dale enjoys contemporary and art oriented quilting, abstract fabrics, embroidery, and sewing. She started hand embroidery when she was 7, and machine sewing when she was 11. Her grandmothers were her teachers.
Dale is familiar with the Brother and Pfaff machine market and the Premiere Plus (VSM) software. She is also familiar with Brother Next and 10 and three other software lines. She owns the Juki long arm quilting machine as well, and received formal training on it, and the Creative Quilting software, in November 2015.
Dale may be familiar to the Round Rock community as the Round Rock Public Library Director. She retired in 2010 after serving 30 years in that capacity. She is also co-founder of Round Rock Main Street Quilt and Thread Guild, the Round Rock Area Arts Council, and recently established a Round Rock extension of the Austin Fiber Artists.
Debra Wieber joined the team in April 2016. Since she has been here, she has spruced up the store with attractive displays and added new samples. She is an excellent merchandiser and has a great eye for what works well when creating a quilt. Debra started sewing with a sewing machine when she was 9 years old. She enjoys garment sewing and has been quilting since 2004. She has also taught children how to sew. Before moving to Round Rock, she worked for Fabricland in Spokane, Washington.
Debra owns both a Janome 15000 and Brother Persona. She looks forward to learning more about her Persona.
You'll know Debra by her infectious laugh and welcoming behavior.
